Let's face it, a programmable remote is extremely personal. I found it to be an 80% solution. I received this remote for my birthday. I was excited, thinking it was a chance to replace six remotes with one well built one. The programming wasn't too bad, but I'm not sure I would want my technology frustrated parents trying to set it up. I was able to find all of my equipment on the list, but there were many functions listed each devise that were not applicable. It was similar but much heavier than a TIVO remote. I loved the peanut shape. What I wasn't crazy about were the buttons, both from a size & texture standpoint. One other frustration, was the inability to program a series of non-standard command such as the Play-Select-Play backdoor commands for TIVO.
The icons are great for house guests & babysitters. They can see the picture of what they want point the remote ... and after a few seconds presto the TV, Receiver, and DVD are all turned on and set-up. I've found the recharging base to be a great thing for the family. Now they always return the remote to the cradle -- I don't have to go hunting for it. For that result alone it is worth twice the money!
The ability to program series has improved, but is still has issues.

Thanks for the heads up on this product :0)
Never tried this, But sounds like a winner!
I've never heard of programming series, but ot sounds interesting. Glad it's fixed!
Oooo... I love that it is rechargeable! Very cool both for the actual recharging and easy locating of the remote in its cradle.
I try to steer clear of universal remote for that very reason ,it takes a rocket scientist to program the darn things.
Great innovative idea there.. to always return the remote to the charging cradle so no need to to go hunting for it.
