Fuji FinePix - Simple Little Camera
I bought this camera last Christmas as a gift for my parents. They wanted to move into the 21st century with a digital camera, but were a little intimidated by even the super-user friendly Kodak I had at the time. The FinePix has worked wonderfully for them, as it does what they say they want it to : it takes pictures.
The screen on this Fuji is a decent size, enough to see what's going on in the viewfinder. The pictures turn out quite well, although sometimes a little washed out from the flash. It also does amazingly well with action shots.
There are a few things that really turned me off to the camera. It uses xD cards, that aren't as standard (or cheap) as SD cards. It also takes a few seconds between shots to process the image, which can miss those spur of the moment, hit the button as fast as you can to get a good picture occassions.Neither of these seemed to both my parents, though.
I'd recommend this camera to anyone who needs to buy for either teenagers who will lose/break their gear or older, non-technological individuals that can't handle a fully loaded digital camera. It's so simple to use - turn on, aim, shoot - that those who usually shy away from technology can easily learn to use it.
