While roaming the aisles of Kmart, I ran across a set of jumper cables, by DieHard. Yes, I needed them. Last winter had been that winter, I needed a set of booster cables and didn't have them.
We had taken the old Voyager to drive, to see a movie. I left the lights on and ended up with a battery that wouldn't turn the engine over. Not only did I need to find someone who could give the Voyager a jump start, I needed to find someone who had a set a cables, too.
It wasn't the end of the world. It took about 25 minutes to find that good samaritan with a set of jumper cables. For a while though, I felt like a street begger, asking people for a jump start.
I kept telling Jan, I would go out and pick up a set, but I lied. Now I would redeem myself.
After we got home, I took the cable set out of the trunk, to bring it over to the Voyager and throw it in the back, but my wife stopped me. "Where do you think your going with those, Cable Guy? That set is for my car, just put them back in the trunk, where you found them".
Redemption doesn't come easily, it is won over time and a few paybacks.
I got the DieHard booster set, because they will last. My dad still has his set, from years ago. I used them, thought I owned them, until my dad stole them back from me a couple of seasons ago.
