I don't think anyone in Philadelphia was too sorry to see Veteran's Stadium go.  Not when we were getting a brand new, baseball only stadium, Citizen's Bank Park.  In a city that's always a bridesmaid and never a bride, it was pretty exciting to get a new park.  It's located close to interstates for easy access and close to the subway line.  Because it's not in the downtown area, there are plenty of parking lots surrounding the sports complex.  All are the same price and are not a very far walk to the stadium.  This is a much better system than in some other cities where all the lots are privately owned and set their own prices and are spread out over several blocks.   

It's built in the same style as Camden Yards, with just more bells and whistles.  It has a two tiered bullpen, with the visiting team closest to the fans' walkway.  In a city known for booing Santa Claus, it can be a bit scary for the visiting relievers. The ballpark is very family friendly and has an area for kids to play.  It has has a picnic area and lots of concessions, some with Philadelphia style food.  Ticket prices for games will range from $16 to $44.

 The stadium also occasionally hosts concerts; one of my visits was to see Jimmy Buffett.  It is also available for special events. 

 All in all, a huge upgrade for the City of Philadelphia.
