Recreation / Stadiums & Sporting Facilities / Safeco Field - Come Watch A Baseball Game

Safeco Field is the stadium where the Seattle Mariners baseball team plays their home games. The layout is probably one of the biggest improvements over the old Kingdom stadium! It really is hard to complain about the seating. We have never not been able to have a full view of the playing field ~ and this includes the cheap seats! It is 19.59 acres and has a seating capacity of 47,116.

Children's Hospital Playfield

This is a nice baseball-themed play area located on the Main Concourse in center field. Its a fun place for kids to work off excess energy and allows parents a short break while they sit back and watch them. It is a good place to let them run around before the game since you need to arrive early anyway to get a decent parking spot!

Roof

Safeco Field has a one-of-a-kind retractable roof was designed to cover (but not enclose) the ballpark. The roof covers nearly 9 acres and weighs 22 million pounds. It consists of three movable panels which takes an average of 15 minutes to open or close.

Hit It Here Cafe

This is where we sit the most often, especially on late summer day games when there will most likely be a lot of sun! This is a cafe located in left field located under the left field view seats. When you purchase tickets to sit here, each seat receives a food voucher, making them the same price as view seats before the food.

Top 5 reasons to sit here:

1. They are under cover so you can avoid the blaring sun.2. The kids each have their own voucher to "purchase" whatever they want to eat.

3. Since the only people allowed into the area have to have tickets to sit there, you don't have to worry about people blocking your view or walking in front of you.

4. The FREE ice water! When the sun is out with Safeco's "no drinks" rule at the gate, a family can spend a lot just on cold drinks! Here the waitress is right there keeping all the glasses full of ice water!

5. Sitting at tables and eating off real dishes and silverware. So much better than eating out of Styrofoam with a plastic spoon off your lap!

Now if they would just lower the ticket price!!
