1 Cookbook For Your Slow Cooker By Alicia Bodine on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook made it to the New York Times Bestseller list. I just love my crockpot (slow cooker) so I decided to try this book. Boy was I surprised. There were tons of recipes in there that I wouldn't have even thought of making.
I decided to give one of the recipes a try. Since it was football season I tried the Michelle's Taco Dip. It only had six ingredients. Usually when I make taco dip I stand at the stove to cook up everything and then when I pile it all together I place it in the oven. This recipe let me skip the oven and most of my time at the stove. I still had to brown the meat, but after that I just piled all of the ingredients in to the crockpot and walked away. 2 hours later I had some extremely flavorful dip to serve with my nachos for my hungry party guests. The dish got rave reviews.
Of course I have not tried even half of the recipes in the book yet, there are so many. There are 9 categories of recipes to choose from including drinks (I really never would have thought of that). I cannot imagine a person who couldn't find some really great new recipes they would be willing to try from this book. I give it an A+!
