10 Years And Going Strong! By daavery25 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

In 1997, when I bought my MiniVan, I would have never believed it would STILL be running in late 2007. I am not the type of person who changes the oil every 3,000 miles or rotates the tires, etc.

However, this tough lady has made 5 trips from Kentucky to Washington State or vice versa, in addition to several long hauls from Ohio to Florida packing off teenagers to college.

This minivan not only gets pretty good gas milage (around 24 mpg hwy) but is easy to convert from family wagon to cargo van with a few flips of levers and the removal of a couple of seats.

The dual zone a/c feature allows the people up front to be cool while the people in the back warm up (or vice versa again) and has individual temperature controls for the driver and passenger seats.

A maintenance issue that I wasn't too keen on is the strange engineering of the serpentine belt that drives several key components of the vehicle. This belt has been known to be prone to disengaging in inclement weather (neat, huh?) and is a rather spendy fix when she decides she's had enough.

171,000 miles, ten years, and still driving strong. I am very pleased with my Plymouth.
