1999 Fender Stratocaster By Tony on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I am reviewing my 1999 Fender Stratocaster that is made in Mexico. It is artic white and has three single coild pickups, a 5-way toggle switch, volume and tone knobs. It is has a rosewood fret board

This guitar is average in sound quality and construction. It has the classic Stratocaster sound, mostly due to the single coil pickups.

I use this guitar as a back-up and in this role, it serves its pupose. There is certainly nothing wrong with this quitar, but it sometimes feels cheap in my hands, compared to American made models. If given the choice, I would go witht he US version, but that comes with a much bigger price tag.

I do like the versitality of the Stratocaster and by having five pick up configuration options, you can easily find many interesting tones.

The Fender Stratocaster is a classic and you can't go wrong with any version, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting the US version though.
