2001 Chevrolet Suburban By Kevin Wilson on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

This suburban was purchased new in 2001, and has been our official transportation vehicle since then. The suburban has endured thousands of miles in mexico, a trip to cabo from southern california (which is a thousand miles of desert, think along the lines of the baja 1000.) Very few things have gone wrong with it, with the noteable exception of the transmission. At almost exactly 100K miles, a few after the warranty expired, the transmission gave out, but Chevrolet paid for nearly the entire thing, even though the suburban was no longer under warranty. The car seats 8 in near luxury with lether seats and an entertainment system, and the sound system is nothing short of amazing. The gas mileage is horrible, due to this being a very heavy vehicle propelled by a larve V8. Overall, a great car.
