2001 Chevrolet Suburban

This suburban was purchased new in 2001, and has been our official transportation vehicle since then.The suburban has endured thousands of miles in mexico, a trip to cabo from southern california (which is a thousand miles of desert, think along the lines of the baja 1000.)Very few things have gone wrong with it, with the noteable exception of the transmission.At almost exactly 100K miles, a few after the warranty expired, the transmission gave out, but Chevrolet paid for nearly the entire thing, even though the suburban was no longer under warranty.The car seats 8 in near luxury with lether seats and an entertainment system, and the sound system is nothing short of amazing.The gas mileage is horrible, due to this being a very heavy vehicle propelled by a larve V8.Overall, a great car.
