2003 Ford Escape By Indygirl on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Escape has been the perfect light duty SUV for our family. It gets decent gas mileage for an SUV of its size (around 24 mpg.)

I do a lot of driving so a safe, dependable vehicle is an important consideration for me. I have been hit twice in this vehicle. No injuries occured either time, and I was back on the road after repairs that would have been much more costly had I been driving a smaller vehicle.

The only non-maintanence repair we've had to perform on this vehicle was replacing the cable that implements the cruise control function.

We live in the midwest, and this vehicle has seen all kinds of road conditions. From blazing heat to feet of snow, we haven't had any problems, although any SUV should be driven with caution in high-wind conditions.
