I have often seen the Mortor Pestles on cooking shows on television and one day about a month ago I was watching Oprah & her doctor told her that she wasn't getting the total benefits of flax seeds because she wasn't grinding them (the inside is where all of the good stuff is). I also eat flax seeds daily & didn't realize I wasn't getting all of the benefits from doing so without grinding them so I was on the hunt for the mortar pestle & finally found it at Target. I have falling in love with it and wonder how I've gotten by without it for so long. I am able to grind my flax seeds to powder form to add to things such as salads, oatmeal..etc. I also like the fact that it grinds whatever herbs you're grinding with very little effort. I now can't live without my mortar pestle...I highly recommend it.
