4 night cruise on the Disney Wonder
By dsnygrl on - Updated Sep 18, 2011In September my children and I took our second Disney Cruise. We have been on several other cruises and several other cruise lines but once again Disney proved to be one of the best. People often ask on message boards why choose Disney over other cruise lines and is it worth the higher price. My answer, yes! The level of service you will get on a Disney cruise makes up for the additional cost over other lines. The Disney ships have a classic ocean liner feel, the way cruises are supposed to be. They are not all decked out in neon like many other lines. Disney is also not only for familes. They have many adult only activities and adult only areas that make it a great trip for all. On Disney they actually enforce the adults only area like the adults only pool where I have been on other ships where they do not. The cast members are very friendly and go out of thier way to get to know you. By the second night of the cruise there was a cast member who knew us by name and everytime he saw us greeted us by out names. It made us all feel extra special. The kids clubs on Disney ships are outstanding and the hours are longer than many of the other cruise lines. The shows are all broadway quality and have Disney magic through out. All of the cabin catagories on the Disney ships are larger than cabins you will find on other ships. A regular ocean view cabin on a Disney ship is the size of some suites on other ships. The bathroom and a half also makes getting a family ready to go so much easier. Every night you are treated to a different dining experience and rotate through 3 different dining rooms with your servers coming with you to each. My biggest complaint with Disney vs other ships is the food. There is better out there with the exception of thier private dining room Palo. The food there is one of the best at sea. Depending on the time of year you pick to go, a Disney cruise can be around the same price as Carnival or Royal Caribbean so give it a try then. It is well worth a little extra.
Update On Jul 23, 2008: Michael Harrison who did the comedy/ventriloquism show on our trip was a contestant on America's Got Talent on July 21, 2008 and made it through the first round.

Thanks for the great info! I will definitely be checking Disney cruises when I make my vacation plans.
Oh I'd love to do a Disneycruise one day!
I keep hearing such bad things about cruises. Nice to know these are good. Thanks!
This would be fabulous. I love boats and Disney I know I would enjoy this. Thanks for sharing this detailed information.
I've never been on a cruise but I can imagine that Disney does it well just like all the other things they do. I like that there are adult only areas (I love kids, just not all the time while I am on vacation) and that those rules are abided by. Too bad you could not just dine in Palo all the time ;)
I've never been on a cruise but I have heard wonderful things about the Disney Cruise. I like that the rooms are bigger than other ships. The cast members sound very friendly and to remember your names is really something with all the other famillies on board. Sounds like a great family vacation.
We always wondered if taking a cruise was something we wanted to do with children in tow.. We have opted for amusement park trip instead. :) But it sounds like this is a great cruise to take if you have the kids... And how nice to have adults only areas.
If I ever get to go on a cruise It will be a Disney Cruise. Sounds wonderful!
I want to go on the cruise.
thanks for the information
