9 Lives Urinary Tract Health Food Review By cukal6 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Last week I had to take my cat to the vet because she wasn't able to go to the bathroom. Come to find out, she had a kidney infection. The vet recommended that I switch her cat foot to one for urinary tract health. I didn't even know they made such a thing! So, off to the store I go and I found this bag of dry 9 lives that is grilled tuna and egg flavored. Again, I didn't know that 9 lives made dry food. You learn something new every day.
The food contains a plus care formula that is supposed to help maintain urinary tract health by reducing the ph. It also has added anti-oxidants, vitamin E, vitamin A, and Protein. Overall, it's a pretty healthy food.
I was a little nervous about switching food because my cats are very picky. That night I filled their bowl with the new food and they went right over and started eating. I think they like it more than the old food. The kidney infection has now cleared up (thanks to the antibiotic) and the vet tells me that there shouldn't be any more as long as we stick to this food. I'll keep you all updated.

My best friend uses this for one of her cats and loves it.
One of my cats had urinary tract infection, and the vet had put him on a special cat food by Hills, sold at the vet's office. The cat is doing well now, he is back to regular food. Perhaps I should check out this one to keep him healthy.
There are much better foods for this than 9 lives so if it doesn't end up working give them a try. The stuff at the vet's office may be more helpful. Hopefully though this food does it for your little kitty! :)
