A Bigger, Better Computer? By houseonthehill06 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This past year we decided it was time to purchase a "better computer". We had upgraded our old ones-and still the speed was slow. I took time comparing prices and found that I could build my own Dell on line. I upgraded the speakers (which are great and clip on the bottom of the widescreen monitor). I upgraded the screen to a 17'widescreen/flatscreen. This has excellent color and space. The only thing I wished I had realized was how many programs Windows Vista was not compatible with. I find the computer is slow at times although it has 1GB of memory-more than any of our other computers. Some things stick on it-and there are times when I decided bigger/more expensive isn't necessarily better. I have never paid this much for a computer and although I like the set up-I am dissapointed in what I got for the price I paid. Things like AOL, and other programs do not always work properly on it-and I have still to figure out all the things that make Windows Visa better. I would still recommend Dell to anyone looking for quality-but don't feel you have to build something great when probably most of their packages have exactly what you need.
