A Fun But Exhausting Read By kaytidawg on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This book is a really fun read. It follows the adventures of Charlize "Charlie" Edwards as she writes a book of advice for her great grandniece on how to live a good life and not let men get the best of her. (She writes it to her grandniece because she is resigned to the fact that, at 30, she will never get married or have kids of her own.)

Added to the stress of her biological clock is the fact that her younger sister is getting married and is being a complete bridezilla. This is not to mention her mother's nagging and a certain hideous bridesmaid dress. Throw in one more outrageous character, Charlie's boss and popular movie star Drew Stanton, who has her running errands at all hours of the night all the while trying to fix her up on dates and move in on one of her girlfriends, and it's a wonder Charlie can maintain any amount of sanity.

This is one of those books where you can be glad the main character's life is not your life, although some part of you secretly would love to try it on for size for a couple of days. Great beach read.
