A Glimpse into an Amazing Mind

The Book entitled Born On A Blue Day is a wonderfully written autobiography about the life of Daniel Tammet. Daniel was born with an Autism Spectrum Disorder which challenges his life in certain ways; particularly socially and emotionally. He has trouble functioning in the general social realm and has had to adapt to be able to tolerate social encounters. His mind can take meanings of words literally and also occasionally finds it hard to read other people's emotions. Throughout the book, Daniel works very hard to overcome some of the obstacles associated with his disorder. He is a savant in the areas of mathematics and language and is able to put his abilities into words, colors and more. The book is a very quick read and I was unable to put it down. It was truly amazing to be able to see into his mind and read how he has achieved his accomplishments!
