A good and fun learning tool from 4-8
By irin997 onMy daughter received the V-Tech V-Smile Video Game system as a gift. The V-Smile is an educational video game system that uses math, reading, phonics, and other skills to make learning fun for kids. The system itself is nice and small and has a storage box within the system to keep games neat and organized for your children. The controller is large and perfect for preschoolers through the age of 8.My 6 year old easily learned how to use the controller within just one session when she received this gift. There are 4 color button, one large "enter" button, and a joystick.
The games for the V-smile are age appropriate for anywhere from 3 years old to 8 years old.My one complaint is that most of the games available are for the 3-5 or 4-6 age range, which my daughter is almost out of.There are very few games for the 6-8 range which leaves us a shorter time period for my daughter to enjoy the system.Of the games available, she enjoys playing Batman and Cinderella, two of the 6-8 range games she owns. These games test both her math and reading skills, while adding a few extras such as making a dress for Cinderlla or driving Batman's Batmobile around town. She also has the Jumping Gym Class game with mat which involves various exercise games and nutrtional education for fun.
Overall, I really enjoy this games system and as I said above, just wish they made more games for the older ages.I can see this system losing its appeal to my daughter in a short time period and her wanting a better video game system, such as Playstation or the Nintendo DS Lite.If you purchase this product at age 3 or 4, it will be enojoyed for years to come.
