A Good Concept By Jennifer Tang on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

In this game you play a character who tries to do things as well as Mama who watches you while you cook. There are about a hundred recipes to choose from, some which can only be found by starting other recipes. You can get several ratings. Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

I've had this game for over half a year and it's been pretty fun. There is no instruction manual so it took me a while to get used to certain techniques, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be zipping through those parts.

Actually, with its multitude of recipes, Cooking Mama is a good way to find something you may want to cook. There are Japanese dishes as well as a few Chinese dishes such as gyoza (a.k.a. dumplings). When I went through a cooking phase, I picked out a recipe, checked out how to make it, went online to find the exact recipe, and then I was able to actually make the food in real life. It was a little unusual, but the game was pretty useful.
