A Handy Little Tiller By Candida Eittreim on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Do you hate weeding? I do! Each year I dread the back breaking chore of digging up the ever present garden weeds. A family member bought the mantis tiller, and raved about it constantly. Based on her recommendation, I visited the mantis site: www.mantis.com and purchased their two cycle tiller. I was impressed with the amount of highly relevant, helpful information on site, and at how easy it was to order my tiller. Choosing the 4 payment plan helped me spread out a large purchase, using $80.00 per month payments.

Mantis ships within 10-15 business days. shipping is free! Included with your tiller is a free instructional video, a handy edger and a kickstand. The standard two year warranty is backed up by a lifetime warranty on the tines against breakage. For an extra $15.95, I purchased a years supply of gasoil, specifically designed for fueling these tillers.

Assembling the tiller takes just a few short minutes and then you are ready to start. This is one tough little garden tiller! It penetrates soils to a depth of 10 inches, ensuring good soil cultivation and weed removal. Snap on the handy lawn edger create beautifully manicured borders for your lawns.

All tillers vibrate, and the Mantis Tiller is no exception. Especially in hardened or heavily compacted soils. But, unlike its larger full sized tillers, the mantis handles easily and nimbly in your garden. Unless it is very cold outdoors, the Mantis starts quickly and easily. It is very fuel efficient and not much noisier than an average lawn mower.

Is it worth its $349.00 price tag? Yes, because it simplifies so many small garden chores, improves the overall looks and condition of your garden, and is small enough to store easily. If you are looking for that one garden tool that can really help you keep your garden healthy, buy the Mantis Tiller. You'll wonder why you went so long without it!

This looks like a great garden tiller! I really like the smaller size. It seems to be perfect for small gardens. Thanks for your insight on the Mantis tiller.

This sounds perfect for knocking out the weeds..I know with mine I have now I have to remove some of the tines before "weeding" and then it is still hard to navigate and hope and pray you dont take out tomatoes :S

Yikes, that's one expensive tiller! But it sounds like it's worth it to you, glad it does the job well.

I think you are reading my mind. *twilight zone theme playing* We just planted our garden and it covers about 1/4 acre. Weeding is horrible!! And I can't do it because I just had open heart surgery a few months ago. My husband is looking for a tiller. We have a huge one for conditioning the soil, but it is too large to get in between the rows. This sounds perfect!

I love my used MANTIS. I am hoping to get a larger sized rotottiller, but love the power of this little garden monster. For its size, it does wonders.

This tiller will last you for years upon years & really sounds like it is quite efficient!

My youngest son has always wanted one of these. He even has the video of it. Perhaps we will have to get one when we move to our own home this summer. Thanks for the excellent information! Great job!
