A Heavy Duty Iron By Eggy on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

This high quality steam iron is made in Germany. It looks good and has a solid feel. It seems to be made of good quality materials.

It has a scratch resistant platinum sole plate designed to optimize steam distribution and glide. It has a three LED status display system which tells you whether the iron is too cool, too hot, or just right for the selected material.

The iron is perfect for people who are easily distracted. Its automatic shut-off feature turns the iron off after 8 minutes if left standing vertically, and 30 seconds if left horizontally or tipped on its side.

It is pretty easy to add water to this iron, and only tap water is recommended. The spray and steam functions work well. There is even a vertical steam function which can be used on hanging clothes.

I have had my Rowenta Perfect Iron for about 4 years. I use my iron quite often and I have not had any problem with it. I have, however, sometimes had problems with my wrists - I think that this iron is too heavy for a small person unless they are quite athletic. This iron is also very expensive. I used a 25% off coupon to reduce the cost from the sticker price of $139.99 to about $105.

The iron has a one year limited warranty.
