A Large Improvement By SMMM on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
A while ago Capcom produced an unexpected cross-over fighting game known as Capcom vs. SNK. It was dissapointingly mediocre; fortunately, with this second try they've hit a home run. A lot of the sprites used in Capcom vs. SNK were again used in Capcom vs. SNK 2, but there are still some new ones to accompany new characters (mostly on the SNK side). The character portraits are all new and mostly very well done. There are two sets of portraits for each character: one done by the Capcom team and one done by the SNK team. It's interesting seeing Capcom characters done in the then-current SNK style. The backgrounds are very well done, but again, have nothing to do with Capcom or SNK. We have a desert, some place in the snow, and outside some shop in Europe? The music is very forgettable and usually has nothing to do with anything. In the training room they do play some music from past Capcom/SNK games, that's a positive. What's all great is the amount of playable characters - 48! Plus it is somewhat balanced unlike Marvel vs. Capcom 2 which had 55 but horrible balance. And unlike the first, the ratio system is optional! You can actually fight 1on1 or 3on3 if you wish. There are also a multitude of "grooves" to choose which are super bars from various other games. This is one of the best fighters today, so pick it up!
