A Mother's Story Of Her Son By Melissa on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have never read a Danielle Steel book before this one and I never thought I would ever read a book written by her. I am sure she is a great author but I like reading non fiction books. This is the true story of the life and death of her son, Nick Traina. I have never cried while reading a book before and I have read this book 3 times, cried each time.
I was a fan in high school of Nick Traina's band Link 80. My friend had told me that he was the son of Danielle Steel and she had written a book about him. So when I saw it at the bookstore, I immediately bought it. I finished the book within 3 days (and I never read a book that quick, it sometimes takes me months!!)
Danielle Steel writes about how Nick's struggles and constantly talks about how much she loved her son and what a great guy joy he was. She called him "Nicky" several times throughout the book, which made me feel more connected with the book for some reason. Nick struggled with drug addiction, but he mainly struggled with manic depression. Steel addresses this in the book a lot and it is very sad how his manic depression ended up killing him.
This is honestly one of the greatest books I have ever read and Danielle Steel wrote it amazingly. I promise, that you will not be disappointed. But warning, it is a tearjerker book.
His Bright Light : The Story Of Nick Traina By Danielle Steel Purchased at: Barnes & Noble Price: $14.40

Wow! Danielle Steel wrote a non-fiction book about her son? Sounds like a good read.
I'm not a fan of the genre of fiction Steele usually writes in, so I've never heard of this book. It sounds excellent -- thanks for the heads-up, I'll check it out!
I have never read a Danielle Steel either but this might be worth a look.
I love to read Danielle Steele and I have not rea this one yet, but I don't like to cry. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I love to read so I have to get this book!
My mother is an avis reader of Steele's.
