A must have for a newborninfant!
By autumnleaves onWhen I found out I was pregnant I knew I would need a swing.I have always heard how handy they were. It required some online and in-store research. Then I found this swing. It caught my eye right away with the bright and vibrant colors. After we purchased it my husband was anxious to get it put together. It didn't take as long as what he was expecting.Maybe 30 minutes and it was complete.Of course like most swings it takes up a good amount of space and it isn't very portable.Especially in the middle of the night when we are just trying to get the baby to sleep somewhere.
At first my son didn't care for the swing at all.As he got a little older he became more fond of it.The base has a wide stance for a greater stability. The bucket seat is cushioned well.It has 2 recline positions but I wished it had one more.My son likes to sit up a little more than the position allows. It does recline far enough back for a newborn though. The seat swings from side to side or front to back. This is one of the best features of the swing.
It is the ocean theme so there are 4 stuffed colorful fish hanging from the mobiles globe on the swing above the seat. The globe lights up into 3 different colors and has swimming fish in it.There are several settings to this swing. There are 6 swing speeds, 8 different songs and 3 aquatic sounds. You can use the swing without the mobile. You can use the mobile without the swing. These are great features when noise and lights disturb your baby or keeps them up because they are nosey like my 4 month old.
It is battery powered and requires 4 D batteries. We haven't had to replace the batteries yet. However we don't use the swing that often. We may use it 1-2 hours a day.
One thing I dont like is that the lights and music only stay on approximately 5 minutes. This was a problem at first because just when my baby was about asleep the music would go off and he would start screaming.Another thing I dont like is that the seat doesnt have a 5 point harness.Overall I do like this swing.

sounds like a nice toy for little ones, i would bet any little one would have a blast with it!!
This is great and looks like a baby would have a blast in it. Thanks for sharing the information.
What an adorable swing! I love the little "fish" mobile on this swing. Years ago, I had a simple baby swing for my children. Things have changed! You know when you purchase Fisher Price, it's a brand you can depend on.
We had an ocean theme for my sons room when he was a baby and this would have been perfect. I have never seen a swing with a mobile before. What a great idea to keep baby entertained. I do agree that a 5 point harness would have been a great addition.
Have a friend whose baby theme was aquariums, so she would have loved this.
Crank it up, or do you still do that with the new ones? Nice info! :)
We had the same one for my oldest daughter, when we went to use it for my second daughter the motor died on mine, but I did love that it would swing in both directions.
We looked at this one when we were buying one for our oldest. It reall is great!
My girl loves her swing! I would have loved to gotten an ocean theme one!!!
Boy! Swings sure have changed since I had a little one! :-)
