A Must Read For Political Junkies Or Dc Lovers By MichelleLeanne on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I had not picked up a chick-lit book in quite sometime but when I saw that this book was described as something along the lines of Bridget Jones DC I couldn't resist. I was pleasantly surprised how funny this book was although after reading some of Kristen Gore's experience with humorous writing I was not as surprised. This book is not cheesy at all, thankfully. The protagonist, Sammy, is a twenty-something Senate staff member who is so lovingly clutzy, neurotic, with insecurity that most of us young 20s are familiar with. There is political humor, escapades at work, and of course a romantic interest which are seamlessly integrated into a great story line.

As a reader I found myself from being entertained by Sammy to relating to the situations she finds herself in. This book is a great break from reality while giving you some perspective on your own life. . . seeing the humor in it. I hope you give this book a chance. AND those of you wanting to know what happens after the book ends will be pleased to know that there is a sequel!
