A 'Plug' For A 48 Plug Aerator By sizwizz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My first indication that this was going to be a good piece of equipment was that it was EASY TO ASSEMBLE! It took about an hour to put it together and take it out for a spin on the lawn. This is a pull-behind aerator with no actual motor to run it. Obviously, if you don't have a tractor, or riding-type mower it would be of no use.

Before you can start, you need to find some 'weights' to place in the flat tray that sits over the top of the plugger knives. I used some spare building blocks which did the trick. My yard is clay-like so I needed to make it heavy enough to penetrate lawn areas that can seem like concrete! Attach the aerator to your mower/tractor with the provided hitch pin you're ready to go. The rest is like a leisurely ride around the yard.

It's that easy! I loved it from the time it came out of the box! The hardest part is picking up all of the plugs it leaves in the yard, but that's the only downside of the operation. For tractor owners this is a good lawn maintenance item to have.

The one time my husband aerated our lawn it turned out so thick and beautiful. He rented an aerator. We could really use one of these for our lawn.
