A Sock Is A Pocket For Your Toes By circusmama on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"A Sock Is a Pocket for your Toes" written by Elizabeth Garton Scanlon and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser is an endearing rhyme about what fits in what. The illustrations are adorable and complex, telling a story of their own while the rhyme tells of love and family life. Yet both work together in an intricate dance.

My children have especially enjoyed this book. They love looking at the pictures and talking about what's going on. There's nothing negative in this book - everything is about love and sharing and being together as family and friends. It's uplifting for young children, who like to be reassured about how much they are loved. Some may find it over the top, but it works well for preschoolers. It's one my children have asked to read again and again.
