A Strange Aunt, Leeches, And Bananas By Sharon Lai on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Children are always wanting a good book to read (especially older children). While there is always the immensely popular Harry Potter series and the relatively new book series Twilight (about vampires, vampire romance, and a girl falling in love with a vampre- quite strange, in my opinon), the Series of Unfortunate Events books which consits of the Bad Beggining, the Reptile Room, the Wide Window, the Miserable Mill, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, the Hostile Hospital, the Carnivorous Carnival, the Perilous Peak, the Grim Grotto, the Penultimate Peril, and finally, The End.
The 13 books (yes, thirteen) are packed with the adventures of three orphans who have been orphaned by a deadly fire and are left with an enormous fortune. They're constantly followed by the horrendous Count Olaf who plots to somehow get his hands on the fortune through murderous ways.
the third book in the series, the Wide Window, is about the adventures the Bauldelaire orphans have when they are adopted by their paranoid aunt who is a freak about grammar and always thinks someone is after her. Meanwhile, Count Olaf is potting to steal their fortune again!
This is a good book that I would recommend to any child who is looking for a laugh (and a scare too!)
