A Thoughtful Gift By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

For my birthday just last month, my daughter gave me this pretty, silver plumeria necklace. She knows I love plumeria, not only because I love Hawaii and it grows prolifically there, but because my nickname is Frangipani (spelled Frangipanni here on Shared Reviews because the nickname wasn't available in the correct spelling). My nephews made up the name when they were old enough to kid around and called me Auntie Janni Frangipani. It stuck, and that's how people get nicknames, right?

The necklace is on a very nice silver chain and the flower has a diamond-like stone in the center for a little sparkle. It might not be a super expensive piece of jewelry, but I love the thought that went into it more than anything. Besides, it is lovely!

She got the necklace when she was on vacation on the Oregon Coast. They have a lot of little shops in all the beach towns, but I'm not sure which one she found the necklace in. I think it was probably in Newport, though, because that is where they stay when they go to on vacation to Oregon.
