A Timepiece For The Ages By bubblywriter on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

A few years ago I was searching for a gift for my Mom and came across a unique miniature grandfather clock (16" tall) in the Bombay Company. Since, she was looking for a new clock to be placed on the living room bookcase mantle this seemed like the ideal choice. An admirer of traditional grandfather clocks, she loved it.

This replica of a mahogany tallcase clock features a hood with classic pagoda styling and three brass finials. The clock face in brass with white enamel encased in wood has four brass columns accentuating the corners. The wooden case hides the enclosed pendulum. It runs on 1AA battery which is easily accessible through a small piece of wood in the back (4" x 21/2") which has an opening you can place your finger in to remove the panel.

This unusual clock serves well as an efficient timepiece while adding a touch of class and character as it sits in its place of honour.

This sounds nice. I have always wanted a grandfather clock. This one sounds more affordable.

My husband and I have a full sized grandfather clock. They are so expensive I wish we had gotten this one.

Bombay Company makes beautiful items - unfortunately they went out of business in my area.
