A Very Addictive Military Strategy Game By SMMM on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Advance Wars 2 is the sequal to Advance Wars (duh), which was released on the GameBoy Advance previously. I have never played the first, so I'll start reviewing the second. These graphics are some of the most polished to have ever appeared on the GameBoy Advance. The maps are very detailed and the character designs are very well done - funny too! The sound is well done too. The music fits the levels and mood well. They are also pretty catchy just by themselves. Hearing the footsteps of your troops is also pretty entertaining. The campaign mode boasts an interesting story as well as some varied maps. Your objective is to order troops, tanks, ect to basically take out the other army. It usually takes a lot of strategy and planning to win on a map. You can also play maps to your heart's content outside of campaign mode. There's also a create-a-map feature, which leaves you playing forever. The game can get a bit challenging at times, but with some thinking, you can get through. The amount of Command Officers you can plays also ups the replayability quite a bit. If you want to get into the series, this isn't a bad place to start!
