Aaa Aaa Review By tilina2120 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Ok, so I've been planning this vacation for my mom. She loves Elvis. Her birthday is in May. So I decide I'll take her to Memphis to see Graceland. Well, I happen to be a member of AAA. This is supposed to save me big bucks on hotels, car rentals, airfare, etc. I log into my account and start pricing everything and the total comes to about $1,850. Now, I'm thinking to myself, that's a lot of money. So I decide to check out some of the other companies online and just see what their price is for the same trip. I check out Travelocity, Priceline, Orbitz and a couple others. Come to find out some of my trip is cheaper if I book it with these other companies. Not only am I shocked to find this out, I'm a little mad. I thought AAA was going to give me huge discounts on these things. I had a big reality check. By shopping around, I found out I could book my trip for about $1,600. Ok, not a lot, but it's still a $250 difference and I am all for saving $250. So my advice to any travelers out there would be to check around. Sometimes the programs we sign up for that are supposed to save us money, end up being more expensive than just shopping around for the best deal.

How nice of you to do this for your mom. I'd like to visit Graceland and Memphis one day also!
