About The Akai Crt Television By tailpen on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I bought an akai crt television from a local store in my country.i bought it six years ago.it has all the standard minimum features like 110 channel capability and dvd playing socket. As for the in built features. the sound quality was excellent. There was facilities for bass and treble control .Picture had the modes- ideal , evening, movie and night.
There was a major unwanted feature present in the picture adjustment levels. these are the sharpness, tint and tone adjustment modes.
When the sharpness buttons were adjusted by using the remote control the picture becomes more unviewable whether it was done on the positive or negative side.A lot of fatigue was caused on the eyes.
When the tint button was adjusted this featue caused eve greater fatigue on the eyes.Ir persisted for more than three days.
The tone button has adjustments of deep infrared on the positive side of the remote control and deep ultraviolet blue on the negative side. When these were used the picture on the screen become more unbearable to see and more fatigue and damaging to the eyesight. The eyes started to burn and caused intense pain. It can be imagined what repeated viewing can cause to the eyes , to young children and old people who have no knowledge of these damaging effects on the eyes. Also the supply voltage to the grid seems to be very high , probably a trick done to get a more brighter, sharper and good image on the screen.
I suggest to the akai company , and other companies using these features, to stop using these inbuilt features in the best interest of the consumers.
