I've been a loyal buyer of Genuine ACE Hard Rubber combs, and yes, in the world of combs, quality makes a difference.
ACE Hard Rubber combs are slightly more expensive than a dollar store comb, but to my delight, they last for the long haul.
The secret is the fact that these American-made combs are built with hardy, firm rubber, almost to the point of unbreakable. No worries about carrying one in your pocket for daily use.
I rarely have ever had one of these break, and I find that these are of superior quality to a cheap comb. Expect years of service from them.
The only downside is the occassional break among the teeth of the comb, but that is to be expected. I appreciate the fact that overall they last for years and firmly have the ability to manage your hair. These combs also do not hurt from combing the scalp unless you do so roughly.

I also believe that sometimes you have to pay a little more to get a better product. I guess ACE combs are one of these products.
ACE is the classic pocket comb. I agree, they hardly ever break.
