Acer Aspire 4720z Laptop

Last year, I bought a new laptop. After listening to various positive advices and comments by my friends, I bought an Acer laptop. The model was Aspire 4720z. I was happy with it's look and the configurations. Considering the price, it was an steal for me. Because it came with 1GB RAM, 160 GB hard disc, Pentium Dual Core processor, DVD-RW, 5-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth, Webcam etc. As, I prefer Windows XP, over Vista, my dealer installed XP on it.

I started to love Acer Aspire 4720z because of it's picture quality. The 14.1' screen gives me clear picture and the color/contrast control is also easy. As it came with 1GB RAM, I never had to compromise with speed. For testing, I ran a couple of programs simultaneously and all worked nicely. So, 1GB RAM is perfect for my work. The webcam is not so powerful, but in my view is enough for video chats!

What I dislike about this laptop? It is their motherboard, that started to show glitches just within one month of purchase. The local service center corrected the problem free of cost. But, it ruined all my good impressions towards this laptop. Then, the sound! The Dolby Digital Live audio is just for the name. The sound quality is so poor that, you will find no difference between it's sound quality with that of an ordinary music player. Want to increase the volume? You will never be able to increase the volume above an average level. The volume controller wheel, that sits at the lower front, never stops to revolve!

So, as a user, I would suggest you to stay away from Acer Aspire 4720z. Pick it, only when you have a tight budget. If you are ready to spend a little bit more, don't waste your time with this one. Because, you will never get complete satisfaction with this laptop.
