Acer Aspire 5735 By vwpsoftware on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Acer Aspire 5735-642G25Mn incorporates a powerful Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2.0GHz CPU processor, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, a 250GB hard drive and Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 to make it a perfect home-use computer. The Windows Experience Index rating has a base score of 3.1.

The computer has an impressive battery life of 3 hours, but when Vista's appearance is switched to Windows Classic, the battery life will even exceed 5 hours. The 732 MB Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator was rather disappointing. Although video playback was good, "Need for Speed Most Wanted" performed averagely. There was a bit of lagging, but the computer could have been better if a graphics card was installed.

The 2GB of DDR2 RAM is a little disappointing considering that DDR3 RAM has been released and is now widely used by Acer itself. However, system performance is boosted with a 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. This, however, does not use Intel Centrino 2 processing technology, but because of the computer's age, it uses an earlier generation.

Overall, the Acer Aspire 5735 is an excellent home computer and is also perfect for students.
