Reviewing: Ice Elements Acne Serum
Purchased at: Iceelements.Com     Price: $14.95 USD

Having purchased almost every brand of acne pad, wash and cream on the pharmacy shelf I was very unsatisfied with the results. Instead of having an acne issue to deal with, my child was left with skin that was red and inflamed and now was red, inflamed and dry and flaky!

Since I was having such good results with my skin with Ice Elements, I decided to purchase a few products for my child. With my fingers cross I place my order, which included the acne serum.

One of the positive attributes of the acne serum is that it does not contain benzoyle peroxide. While many popular brand name acne remedies contain benzoyle peroxide at one strength or another, bp is often a culprit in drying out the skin, especially skin stressed with acne and/or overuse of skin treatment products. Over the long term, drying out skin will increase the rate of aging maybe not so much a thought in the head of a teen, just yet, but something that mom would consider.

Instead of bp, the acne serum has great ingredients like aloe vera, tea tree oil, salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid. From researching the ingredients, I found that the aloe is very healing, has antibacterial properties and helps to reduce redness; the tea tree oil has antibacterial and antiseptic properties and is sometimes used undiluted to treat acne lesions;salicylic acid helps to unclog pores and remove dead surface skin cells, which can clog pores, etc.

The effect of using this serum was great! Although the treatment did take a while to work, it not only worked in conjunction with a couple other Ice Elements products (including the 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel), but it is soothing, non drying and cost effective.

A 2 ounce bottle lasts for a very long time as it only takes 2 - 4 drops to cover the entire face. It is that effective!

While some may prefer to use the acne serum as a spot treatment method, my child used the acne serum over his entire face as he was having some major breakouts. Using the serum all over helped not only to reduce the current lesions more quickly, but also to prevent ones from arising in the future.

I also found that the acne serum has another, unadvertised, use. It can be used as a facial peel by those without acne! For people, like myself, with sensitive skin peels can be something that is not an option while the acne serum isnt going to give the same extreme results in one use as a more powerful peel, used for several days in a row or on a weekly basis it will have positive results on the surface of the skin.

I have used it myself by both leaving it on and by rinsing it off after a few minutes. Either way, I could feel and see positive results, and plan to keep a bottle of the acne serum in my stash.

Cam has periodic breakouts and has had a terrible time finding products that don't dry out his skin. Because you took time to list and explain the properties of this serum, I'm inclined to give it a try.

Very informative. I have heard lots of great things about tea tree oil and what it can do, so it doesn't surprise me that it's an ingredient in an acne serum that works.

my daughter has tried several different products now and not found the right one. This looks like it might be worth a try and if it does not work for her, I can use it as a facial peel instead.

Acne is a problem whether it is teenage or adult acne. I am happy that you have found a great product that works for you. I will tell my nefew about this product since he has some acne issues . I think he might just switch what he is using now to Ice Elments. I heard that tree tea oil is great :)

My fourteen year old son has problems with acne. He'd been just wiping the problem areas with alcohol but my husband and I agreed he was going to need something more. I'm going to look into Ice Elements. Thanks for the info!

Mary, If you decide to purchase this, do ask if they still have the samples of the 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel. It is sort of a cool product - especially for boys as the surface dead skin cells roll off - which may encourage him to use it more. Plus it really kicks it up a notch.
