Acom Data 509 Hard Drive Enclosure By Dixie Daniels on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This hard drive enclosure is great, it works well, and since it uses a heat-sink system, rather than fan-cooled one, it runs silently as well! The case has two Firewire ports with a max upload of 400 Mbps, and one USB 2.0 port with an upload of 480 Mbps. The enclosure fits a 3.5" IDE/EIDE (ATA) drive. It can either sit on its side, or upright in a stand, has an on/off switch, and comes with the power cord, Firewire and USB connectors.

I received this enclosure as a gift, and could not be happier with it. It's compatable with either Windows or OSX, and so it boots right up when I connect it to my iBook and flip the switch. The upload speed is more than fast enough, and I can transfer files between the hard drive and laptop with relative ease.
