Acuvue Advance With Astigmatism And Me. By Kurenai on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I decided to try out contact lenses due to disliking my glasses. I was prescribed Acuvue ADVANCED with Astigmatism for my astigmatic eye. I had no trouble with putting regular contact lenses in my astigmatic eye, so I figured these would be twenty times easier. How wrong I was.

When I got the contacts it took me about half an hour to stick them in my eye. They kept gluing themselves to my finger repeatedly, so I had to use a combination of two fingers to finaly get the contact in. By the time it was in, it irritated my eye and I had to wait a minute or two until the burning sensation went away.

The contact was far from comfortable when it came to wear. I could feel it pretty clearly when it was there and I just wound up taking it out and avoiding wearing the contacts at all due to all the hassle.

In the end, I called Johnson&Johnson and wound up getting a refund. I do not recommend these at all. If anything, just stick with a regular contact lens when it comes to astigmatism.
