Acuvue Oasys Contact Lens By jennz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus by Johnson and Johnson is one of the newest contacts available, and I have to say they are great! I can't believe the difference. My previous lens was the Acuvue 2. These lenses allow 100% more oxygen in and the difference is moister eyes. The lens is also larger and covers more of the eye. At first it's a little hard to get used to - it takes about 2 - 3 days to adjust, and after that it's not a problem. These contacts are actually comfortable to wake up in! Yes that's right - sleep in them and wake up without feeling that there's a sheet of sandpaper glued to your eyeball. It helps to add a few drops of lubricating drops before you go to sleep, especially after you've been wearing them a few weeks. You do need to take them out to clean them every week or so. The "wear time" on these contacts is 4 weeks if you sleep in them, around 6 if you don't. I don't know how they are for people with astigmastism since I don't have it. Overall I highly recommend these lenses - they are so comfortable, they wear longer and you can sleep comfortably in them. They are more expensive but that's offset by being able to wear them twice as long.
