Adaptation By Tifffany on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This movie stars Nicholas Cage as Charlie Kauffman, a real life screenwriter who worked on Being John Malkovitch. In this movie Kauffman is attempting to adapt the novel The Orchid Thief to screen, and has some issues with it. So instead, the script becomes about him and his trouble with adapting the movie to film. He also creates a fictional twin, Donald Kauffman, and writes the story as more of an adventure than a story about flowers. Meryl Streep stars in this as the author of the novel. This movie is very funny and surreal. It starts off believable enough, but at some point takes a turn for the extraordinary. Once you realize what has happened, it's entertaining and amusing. I am also a fan of the style and direction of Being John Malkovitch, and I found this movie to be as well done and creative as that.
