Add A Fireplace To Any Room By balentine2 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I was shopping at Meijers one day and saw this electric fireplace. I thought it would look very good in our living room so I went home and preceded to talk my husband into buying it. And I have to admit I was right, it looks great in my living room.
This is a wood fireplace with a cherry finish. It stands approximately 45 inches high and is 40 inches wide. It had to be assembled but was fairly easy to do. It took my husband less than an hour to assemble the fireplace and attach the firebox.
The firebox is very realistic looking when turned on, it even has what appear to be glowing embers. At the bottom of the firebox is a vent that flips down to reveal the controls. There are 3 switches; on/off, 750w and 1500w. It also has 2 dials. One controls the temperature and the other controls how much light the logs put out.
I mainly wanted this fireplace for how it looks but when my furnace unexpectedly quit last winter, I was able to see how effective it is. I shut the doors to every room but the kitchen and living room and it was able to keep the temperature at a comfortable level until the repairman arrived.
I really enjoy my fireplace and it has turned out to be both attractive and functional.

Lucky you had this when your heater went out. Talk about timing!
I would love one of these in my living room, thanks for sharing and didn't know Meijer even carried these!
This is really beautiful & looks so realistic. I think that would look beautiful in our bedroom.
I have always wanted one of these, I just love a fireplace!
I have two of these in my home, and just love them! They are realistic, and the heater helps out when you don't want to keep turning up the thermostat on your furnace.
