AHA Body Silker Lotion with alphahydroxy
By moonbeam973 onAt $34.50 for an 8.4 fl. oz. bottle, this product is not exactly a bargain, but it IS worth the price. I use it once a week (DHC recommends using it daily, but I don't think that's necessary - or cost efficient), to exfoliate my skin. (Because the product does contain alphahydroxy acid, I make sure to apply sunscreen to any skin that will be exposed to the sun). This lotion really does a great job of exfoliating (even rough knees, elbows, and heels) and moisturizing. (I should mention though that if you have any nicks, cuts, or skin irritation, this product will sting! Using it on legs that have just been shaved is not a good idea). I like that it is a strong exfoliant, but it is also gentle; it does not irritate the skin. The lotion is fragrance free, but it does contain olive oil (a DHC staple), which is a fantastic skin softener. Some of the other beneficial ingredients are lactic acid (that's the alphahydroxy acid), glycerin, and squalane. DHC has some fantastic skin care products to offer, and this Body Silker is one of my favorites. I highly recommend it (unless you have sensitive skin - the alphahydroxy may be a bit strong for sensitive skin).
