Airtran Bloomington To Atlanta Review By cukal6 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I like to travel but I hate to fly. Sitting in the airport, sitting in tiny seats next to someone you don't know, awful snack. You all know what i"m talking about. What's worse is that I live in a tiny little town in central illinois and it's a 2-3 hour drive to a decent airport. Well, a couple of years ago I decided to try Airtran Airways out of an airport 45 minutes away. The price was great (always is on this airline), it was simple to book online, and since I had never flown them I wanted to be able to tell my clients about them (I"m a travel agent). I was very pleasantly surprised. Since it's a small airport it's free parking, there weren't 1000 people waiting to catch flights, and I only had to get there 30 minutes prior to flight time. While boarding, the captain was on the intercom telling jokes and when I got to my seat, it was very comfortable. Once in flight the captain came on again and played the harmonica for us. The flight attendants were dressed very casually and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was a great flight and I have flown them a few times since. Haven't heard the harmonica again, but I've always had a great experience for a great price. In fact, I'm getting ready to book them for my Disney trip. If you ever have the opportunity, I would recommend Airtran over any other airline I've ever flown.
airtran's prices run anywhere from $59 - $129 one way. I've never payed more than $99 one way.

Wow, great prices for what seems to be a very personable flight experience.
I agree, I love Airtran!! We have always flown with them and been very pleased. On our last trip to Disney we flew with Southwest because the price was cheaper, NEVER again! What an awful experience. We will definitely go with Airtran next time. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I feel this way about Allegiant Air. They fly out of the smaller airports and if you fly on a Sunday they have raffles during the flight!! I've flown Airtran once but it's a 2 hour drive for me to use them so I opt for the 1 hour drive.
