Alavert: For the Mild Allergy Sufferers
By feyaya onI have been using Alavert dissolving tabs for years now. My allergies are usually extreme, with excessive sneezing, runny or congested nose and head, itchy eyes and occasional wheezing. For all of the above symptons, Alavert will unfortunately NOT do the trick. Prescription Allegra will be the best bet. However, if you do have any of the syptoms listed on the box, like runny nose, the Alavert will work and the quickly dissolving tabs are very convenient. The original mint flavor as well as the citrus mint are both good; not delicious, but very tolerable!
I have found that taking 2 will help better with more extreme symptoms. I resorted to this when I did not have Allegra. Taking 2 did cause drowsiness, however.
Overall, I would recommend Alavert for milder symptoms. They are easy and quite convenient!

The 24 Hour Alavert actually works for me. I have tried Claritin and so many others. Benadryl is only before bedtime because it knocks me out. I prefer the 24 hour over the 12 hour D from Alavert. Mucinex does absolutely nothing for my allergies and congestion. I love the melt in your mouth tabs from Alavert and always carry these with me.
