Not literally green… environmentally green!

I had been seeking a new shampoo and conditioner that was not just effective for my hair but also one that uses natural and organic ingredients. I also wanted to get away from sodium lauryl and laureth sulfates as they are not particularly healthy over the long term.

One of the shampoos that I tried (and have used for several months) and really liked is Alba Botanica's Plumeria Replenishing Hair Wash. This shampoo is part of Alba's Hawaiin Hair Care series… and while I have never visited Hawaii the scent that comes out of this bottle smells just as I would imagine that Hawaii does! It is just amazing! I would describe it as a sweet floral scent… mind you I do not like floral scents in beauty products. The scent is not like any flower that would grow in my yard… but exotic and sweet with delicate hints of fruit. I have listed the ingredients at the end for you to peruse… which should give you an idea of how lovely this stuff smells!

The scent does not linger on the hair, however. I do end up with a light scent when I am done, but it may be that I use the conditioner as a leave in.

More important than the smell (which I just cannot get over every time I open that precious bottle) is how well it works for me. This shampoo makes my dull hair come to life. My hair has become shiny, manageable and full. I have fine wavy to curly hair which did not shine as much as I would have liked it too, until now. Plus my hair did not always have the bounce that I wanted… and although wavy to curly, it could be unbelievably flat. Not anymore!

In fact, my hair actually seems like it has gotten younger!

The price of this shampoo is phenomenal for a natural shampoo. I purchased a shampoo that cost me more than 5 times the price that I paid for this one and while the ingredients of the other was very nice, I like this one much more.

In addition to the nice ingredients of the product the company is very environmentally conscious. Their office and warehouse are 100% solar powered!

The total package of this product makes my purchase a no brainer. I will continue to use this product and support the Alba company.

Aqueous extracts of ananas sativus (pineapple), carica papaya (papaya) and zingiber zerumbet (awapuhi), certified organic aloe barbadensis, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, oleyl betaine, soyamidopropalkonium chloride, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, citric acid, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), soy protein, vegetable glycerin, macadamia ternifolia and aleurites moluccana (kukui) nut oils, ethylhexylglycerin, glycereth-7 cocoate, sodium benzoate, phospholipids, macrocystis pyrifera (kelp) extract and botanical fragrance.
