This is a great little printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine.It does not take up much space on your desk - particularly if you are replacing two or more machines.
It is an inkjet printer which can use either standard printheads for text or special photo ink ones for photos.Idon't print that many photos with it so I have never used the special photo supplies.The normal print heads work fine for my color printing needs such as holiday newsletters containing a few photos on standard paper.It will print up to 20 black and white or 13 color pages of text per minute - photo printing is much slower.
I normally have my defaults set to Draft / Black & White to conserve ink. If I am doing something important which I am sharing with others I print in Best mode.
The fax capabilities are easy to use.It has 100 pages of fax memory, so it buffers up the images before it dials.There is room for up to 80 fax speed dial numbers.The fax (and copier) capabilities can be used standalone without a computer.
The scanner can capture up to 2400 dots per inch. The 5610 has an automatic document feeder, this does not seem common on such a low cost All-In-One.The document feeder allows you to quickly and easily copy up to 25 pages.The copier cans be either color on black and white, with a range of quality settings.
If I was printing a large volume of pages I might consider a color laser printer, but since I am using this more as a casual printer and copier in my home office this HP Officejet 5610 is perfect for my needs.
