All In One A Certification Exam Guide By CountryBoy71 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I purchased this book in anticipation of taking the CompTIA A+ Certification exam. The book is written on a very good professional level. It is even designed for newbies to the field, starting out with the most basic of information.

It does contain a CD-ROM which has some practice tests and software. However, I found that the practice tests were limited, because once you took it, you knew the configuration of the questions. As for the “bonus” techie software, that was pretty much useless and nothing that you couldn't find somewhere else.

The material contained in the book is awesome. It has tons of information that other guides leave out. However, as a study guide for the certification test, it's overkill. It has way too much information and can overload even a tenured computer tech who is attempting to study for the test. The only reason I kept the book is because of the vast amount of reference material that is in there.

So, if you're looking for a systematic plan to passing the A+ test, stay away from this book. However, if you're looking for a great reference resource that can help you find things not easily found in other technical manuals, you've come to the right place.
