This movie is the story of a high school student who goes in search of rock legends. Patrick Fugit plays William Miller, a student who has been commissioned by Rolling Stone magazine to follow the band Stillwater on their tour. During this time, he is witness to much of the partying, drugs, and women that rock and roll has become synonymous with. It is also a coming of age tale of sorts, as William meets the groupies and learns about women and life on the road. Kate Hudson plays Penny Lane, who is sort of the head groupie. She does a really good job in this role and is quite adorable. The movie is based off of director Cameron Crowe's own experiences. Also with a supporting role is Zooey Deschanel as Patrick's sister. The movie is set sometime in the 70's, and accurately portrays that time period as well. This film is not to be missed by music fans.
