Aloe Vera Not Just For Burns By Cyn Bagley on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

It has been a few months since I posted my review on DGL Licorice on break-out acid reflux. Break-out acid reflux is acid reflux that is not controlled by Prevacid or other prescribed pills. Since this last post, I heard about a product that helps the flora and fauna in the intestinal region--yes, George's Always Active Aloe.

I get a lot of my information from my Wegener's Granulomatosis Discussion group. Many of these patients have GERD caused by a combination of the medications (prednisone and chemo) and the disease (Wegener's Granulomatosis). One of the folks asked about aloe vera. I was surprised because I was used to buying gel for burns. I learned about this use of aloe vera because my mother had a plant and she would use it for stove burns. Plus I am very fair and aloe vera gel was very good for my sunburns.

After hearing about this other use (intestinal help) and knowing that with my meds (imuran and prednisone) and that my flora and fauna was very low, I went to my local health food store, looking for some drinkable aloe vera. They introduced me to this product. You can find it at this site: http://www.georgesaloe.com/

I have been using it now for one week: two ounces in the morning and evening. The wonderful thing about it is that even when I eat tomatoes (and I love tomatoes), I don't have any break-out acid reflux. Even better I am now stopping the use of one pill in the morning. So instead of two pills of prevacid a day... I am down to one pill a day.

George's says: Try this product for 30 days and feel the difference.

I will give you an update in 30 days, but for now... I am good.
