I bought this Aloha High Velocity fan to cool my home. Our air conditioner decided to quit one very hot day in the summer. I hooked it up and within a few minutes I could really feel it cooling down the room. I moved it from room to room until the temperature in the house dropped at least 5 degrees . I left it running overnight and it made a big difference in the comfort level of the house. It is very powerful and has three levels of low, medium or high. If you have something laying on the floor next to it and you turn it to the highest speed ~ it will be flying ! The only negative thing I have to say about this fan is that if it is on the highest level it is very loud. Seriously, you have to turn the television up high to hear over the noise of the fan. But it does a great job of cooling and that is what matters. I can deal with the noise in order to be cooler. It is very portable so you will be able to move it from room to room. I would highly recommend this type of fan for someone looking for a way to cool down!

Those floor fans are powerful. We used them in a shop where I worked that typically got at least 20 degrees hotter than outside without those fans running.
